So you are probably thinking right now that i have gone crazy passing isn't the most important part of the game of soccer. Well here i will prove you wrong as well as tips for passing. So without further notice here's the Soccer passing guide:

OK lets all admit it every team has a ball hog almost. That's American Soccer. That's OK because this guide is for that. First i want to prove to you how important passing is. This is a true story, in a league there is two teams an top team and a lower team. The top team is full of all the leagues top players, and the bottom team has good players too, but know where as good as the other team. The bottom team works well together and are completely unselfish. The top team players are manly in it for themselves and don't pass it unless they have to. One day they play a scrimmage game. The bottom team passes around and gets crosses in with there great passes. When the top team gets the ball they try to dribble it up the middle. The bottom team catches on and rushes or double teams the one with the ball, steal it and pass it to there wingers who pass it to the middle for a one two then gets it back then crosses it.[ this story has been exaggerated since i actually didn't see the game but was told about it]. They won. Passing also gets your team less tired, gets the ball stolen less, gets people open, creates open shots and breakaways, and wins the game. If you still don't believe me ask any good coach and they will say a good assist is worth more then a goal. Which comes to why did all those selfish players make the top team? As i said in my tryouts guide coaches aren't always right, but if you have a good coach they will recognize you for your passing ability and if your other abilities are great too then you will make a good team. The people who make it to the MLS or to the World Cup have amazing passing abilities.

Different Types of Passing

There are different types of passing that you can use for different situations.

To-Feet Pass

The to-feet pass is probably the most simple of passes and most common. You need to pass the ball with pace but not so much that it is hard for the receiver to receive the ball. The proper way to use do this pass is to first put the foot that you are not passing the ball with even with the ball. Next use the inside of your foot to pass the ball. This pass is best when no one is marking a player or the field is clear of player that could block the pass. Remember to keep the ball on the ground.

Through Pass

The through pass is a pass in which the ball is played into space and a defender runs on to it. Through balls are a great way to get behind the defense and work best with a fast player. Using the same ways that you used in the to-feet pass play the ball into space. Make sure the player is ready for the through pass. Most through passes are made because of a run so make sure to look out for them. Also, remember that a through pass doesn't have to be on the ground. Through passes are perfect when a player is being marked tight or you see gaps in the defense. Below you can watch superstar Kaka's guide to a killer pass. The pass that he uses in this video is a through pass.

Chip Pass

A chip pass is like a through pass but you chip the ball over a defender. To perform a chip pass lock your ankle. Place your opposite foot behind the ball and hit under the ball to get air on it. The chipped ball should have backspin on it. Great to use when there is a player between the receiver and the passer.

One Touch Pass

A one touch pass is passing it immediately once you get the ball without another touch. There will be many times in which you need to use this in a game. Obviously the best time is when there is a quick opening for a through ball or when you are under pressure. When doing a one touch pass get ready to pass the ball at the right angle before the ball comes. Remember if you don't need to put as much power on a one touch ball.

General Passing Tips:.

Amazing midfielder Andrea Pirlo Gives you tips on passing.

No your teammates if you know they are going to spin off the defender get ready to send a through ball.

Use one-twos this is the best passing play you can do they are almost impossible to stop if you do it right.

Make up your own passing plays, but don't make them too complicated, such as giving a signal then running past your defender into the middle where you run on the goal kick. Or giving a signal when you are spinning out.

Be unselfish.

If you feel your teammates aren't passing to you enough, say look at me on the wing or whatever position you playing I'll be open.

Use drop passes if needed these help open up the field.

Don't use through balls every play know when to hit him in the feet or play him though.

Watch the pros they will help you a lot.

Use the switch it works almost every time. The switch is passing the ball to the other side of the field.

When you receive the ball immediately look up because that will give you more time to pass.

Sometimes maybe try a no look pass. If you know where your teammates are than look to the other side then pass it. This can be extremely helpful with skilled defenders who look at your eyes to look where the pass will go.

This covers passing from the top of my head i will add more tips soon
