This is the guide that will help you to work with your son to help him become a better player, have fun,and get you involved without getting him mad. Also if you are a coach then please look at the
Coaches Guide coming soon.
Starting out
No matter if this is your first son's first season or he has been on teams for many seasons this is a very hard proccess. However, i am going to make it easier for you with this guide. The first thing you do is either find out or ask the coach [recommend] about your son's/daugters strenghnths and weaknesses on the Soccer field, confident wise, and how hard he works. If you ask a coach he will probably know more then you, and he will respect you more for trying to help your kid. Also, ask him what you could do to help. Now say to your kid that you want to play Soccer with him/her. Slowley help your kid with his weaknesses, and compliment him a lot. Or say you will get it next time. Don't play with him for two long inless you think he is enjoying it. If he starts to get mad then ask him what he wants to do now. Yes, this may include playing with dolls or something, but it will be worth it. Or you can say i have to do something [ don't acually say something]. Also go to as many practices and games as you can. After practice say you did a good job.
Games
At a game don't yell at your kid or the refferres. I know this is hard, but it will help greatly. Sometimes, you could shout encouragment to your kid [ not in the middle of a play] but if your kid says he does not want you to stop. You could set goals for your child like if you score a goal you get a piece of candy ect. However when you do make sure you set goals for goals and assests and make them preaty much equal. Also if your Son/daughter is having trouble with anything in the games look at my Help in soccer games coming soon. Encourage your child to play all the positions when your younger so he/she can find which one he/she is better at or likes more. Have more than one though. Even if you are not good at a position play it one your son/daughter is younger.
What to Practice With Your Kid
To find some drills to practice with your kid visit the Coaches Guide coming soon.
However what you should do is tell them to use their left and right foot. Also push them hard when there older. Also tell them to pass when someone is open and not be selfish. Ask your coach on stuff to practice with them too.
Furthermore
I can give you a little insight but most of it is up to you to help your kid. I will add more to this when i can, but manley it is about you so go help your kid get better at Soccer now.
